Join Baja Custom Tours on this special tour of Northern Baja’s best places and to see the wonderful gray whales during their mating/birthing season. The tour covers the East coast and the West coast of Baja including San Felipe, Guerrero Negro and Scammons Lagoon, Bahía de Los Ángeles the gem of the Sea of Cortez, Historic and Prehistoric Cataviña, the lovely endless beach of San Quintín, the bustling center and wine country of Ensenada, and then a return through the beer town of Tecate. Get to meet local vendors, eat incredible Mexican food, and have a great time with old and new friends in this all-inclusive 9 day/8 night tour.
Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 – 8:00am departure from San Diego, cross into Mexico at Otay, take Highway 2 through La Rumorosa to Highway 5, lunch at San Felipe taco stand, check in to beachfront hotel, free time/shopping, dinner at Rositas on the boardwalk.
Day 2 – 7am breakfast Rositas, stop at Gonzaga for views/bathroom/snacks, drive to Guerrero Negro, check in at Caracoles motel, Tony’s Tacos for lunch, free time, dinner at Mario’s Palapa.
Day 3 – 7:00 am drive to Ojo de Liebre lagoon, breakfast at the Ejido, 2 1/2 hour inner lagoon whale tour, lunch at Tony’s Tacos, free time, visit old town Guerrero Negro – Baja Berrendo sanctuary. Dinner at Mario’s
Day 4 – check out of rooms, 7:30am breakfast at Mario’s, bus tour to outer lagoon with Mario’s through salt plant, 3-hour whale tour on outer lagoon with sack lunch, drive to Bahía de Los Ángeles, check in at Costa del Sol motel, free time, Seafood extravaganza dinner at Liz’s!
Day 5 – 7:30am breakfast at hotel, boat tour of bay and islands from my Casa beach, free time lunch/drinks in town/visit Bahia Natural History Museo, then beach day and catered dinner at Casa Essary
Day 6 – depart Bahia de Los Angeles at 9am after breakfast, drive to Cataviña and check in, lunch at Hotel, drive to pinturas rupestres, dinner at Hotel
Day 7 – depart Cataviña at 9am after breakfast, drive to San Quintín for lunch at Parcela 12 Comedor, check in at Misión Santa Maria hotel on the beach, free time, dinner at hotel.
Day 8 – 8am breakfast at hotel, drive to Santo Tomás winery or tasting location in Ensenada, check into hotel on the boardwalk, free time/shopping. 7pm Dinner at Birrieria Guadalajara restaurant.
Day 9 – 8:30am breakfast at hotel, free time, lunch at Villa Marina Restaurante Ensenada, cross border in Tecate, drive to Clairemont Mesa house.
