Ensenada Boat Ramps
Both boat ramps in Ensenada—Hotel Coral & Marina and Cruiseport Village—are temporarily closed. The boat ramp in Estero Beach is open but is only allowing kayaks and jet skis (no boats ) at $50 per launch for non-hotel guests. If you are a hotel guest, you pay the $50 fee once and can use the ramp for the duration of your stay. If you are navigating into one of these marinas, the marinas are completely open, and the boat slips are still available by reservation.

Canadian Vehicles
A reminder for Canadian travelers traveling to Mexico that Canadian vehicles must always have current registration (requirements vary from state/province/country). Some U.S. states don’t require you to keep active insurance while others do (i.e California), so be sure to plan accordingly. In some Canadian provinces the registration and insurance are tied, and therefore cannot be cancelled. Suspended, invalid, or cancelled registration would void your Mexican auto insurance policy.

New CDC Rules for Bringing Dogs into U.S.
A reminder that on August 1, 2024, the CDC rules changed for bringing dogs into the U.S. from other countries. If you are bringing dogs from Mexico (which is considered a low-risk country for rabies), you must complete a free CDC Dog Import Form for each dog you are crossing with. The form receipt must be printed or you can show it on your phone to the customs officer at the border. The completed form is good for multiple entries for 6 months as long as the dog has not traveled to a high-risk country in the last 6 months. You can read more about the new rules in our article here.
