New CDC Rules for Bringing Dogs into U.S.

On August 1, 2024, the CDC rules changed for bringing dogs into the U.S. from other countries. If you are bringing dogs from Mexico (which is considered a low-risk country for rabies), you must complete a free CDC Dog Import Form for each dog you are crossing with. The form receipt must be printed or you can show it on your phone to the customs officer at the border. The completed form is good for multiple entries for 6 months as long as the dog has not traveled to a high-risk country in the last 6 months. You can read more about the new rules in our article here.
