Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 – Departure from San Diego 7:30am, cross into Mexico at Otay, take Highway 2 through La Rumorosa to Highway 5, lunch at Rosita’s Restaurant on the Malecon in San Felipe, then drive to and check into Hotel Santa Maria Catavina, free time, dinner & campfire at Catavina.
Day 2 – 8am breakfast Catavina, drive to local cave paintings north of Catavina, drive to Guerrero Negro, check in at Caracoles motel, Tony’s Tacos for lunch, free time, dinner at Mario’s Palapa.
Day 3 – 7:30 am drive to Ojo de Liebre lagoon, breakfast at the Ejido, 2 1/2 hour inner lagoon whale tour, lunch at Tony’s Tacos, free time, visit old town Guerrero Negro – Baja Berrendo sanctuary. Dinner at Mario’s
Day 4 – Check out of rooms, 7:30am breakfast at Mario’s, bus tour to outer lagoon with Mario’s through salt plant, 3 hour whale tour outer lagoon with sack lunch, drive to Bahia de Los Angeles, check in at Costa del Sol motel, free time, Seafood extravaganza dinner!
Day 5 – 7:30am breakfast, boat tour of bay and islands, lunch/drinks in town, visit Bahia Natural History Museo, beach day and dinner at Casa Essary
Day 6 – Depart Bahía de Los Ángeles at 8am after breakfast, drive to San Quintin for lunch at Parcela 12 Comedor, check in at Mision Santa Maria hotel on the beach, free time, dinner at hotel.
Day 7 – 8am breakfast at hotel, drive to Parque Nacional, picnic lunch at San Pedro Mártir park area, drive to Ensenada hotel, check in and then free time/shopping. Dinner at El Rey Sol restaurant.
Day 8 – 8am breakfast at hotel, free time, lunch at Villa Marina Restaurante Ensenada, cross border in Tecate, drive to Clairemont Mesa house.
